There Was a Time When Earth Was All Water, With no Continents And no Coronavirus

The researchers say that two different flavors, or “isotopes”, of oxygen are trapped in these ancient rocks, the slightly heavier atom called Oxygen-18 and a lighter one called Oxygen-16. They discovered that there was a bit more of the Oxygen-18 atom population back then, than the balance that exists in oceans today.
